Coffee with McKenna’s 2020 Fall Fashion Look-Book

Hi Friends!

I have been scrolling Pinterest for days dreaming about what I want my fall fashion vibe to be (PS follow me on Pinterest!) and decided to put together a “look book” – or “mood board” – to share with you all! I plan on having a version 2 of this post where I recreate all of these looks, (so be on the lookout for that!) but for now I am still compiling the pieces I need in order to create the vision I want.

I also wanted to include the opportunity for you all to shop too if you wanted, so after each mood board gallery below, there are shop-able links to items that would be perfect for recreating these looks! The next few sections show images from my “lookbook: fall and winter” and “fashion inspo” boards on Pinterest (photo credits can be found there) and also a few from last fall/winter that I would love to channel again!

Casual Style

I am looking forward to wearing my Converse and Adidas/Nikes with more outfits this fall since sneakers are trendy right now! I have always been a person that prefers comfort over fashion (ironic as a fashion blogger, I know) so my feet are going to be so happy!

I also am looking forward to playing with colors and two ways: color blocking, neutral tones, and having a bright piece to stand out.

Elevated Everyday Look

Instead of wearing the same items/looks every day (which I tend to gravitate towards…) my goal is to create elevated outfits – I want to play around with trends, styles, and pieces to build different looks that I haven’t thought of before.

Hats are definitely one way to add to a look, and I believe they will be very popular this fall. I am excited to play with the beanie and rimmed hats that I have – I also want to try to create looks with some baseball caps! I do not have a fiddler cap, but given the photo below I really want one!

Professional/Work Wear

I am not going in to work much anymore, only a few times per month, so when I DO go in I want to leave a great impression! I look forward to wearing blazers in various ways, long tunics paired with leggings, and dresses! I love pairing a collared shirt or dress with a cardigan (my office is always so cold!) in the fall/winter for layers of dimension in the look.

Finally, I want to play with patterns and colors to jazz up my work looks! Every time I wear a pattern (specifically leopard print…) someone makes a comment, which in turn made me stop wearing “loud” looks. However, I have decided what fun is that?! As long as it is worn in a professional way, wear what YOU feel good in! And I plan on doing that!

I am super excited to start putting together my fall wardrobe! What do you think are fall staple pieces that will be popular in 2020?? I can’t wait to find out!
