It’s that time of year again – THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE!!!
I don’t know about you, but I have been online shopping quite a bit during quarantine! That paired with a lot of people trying to be more mindful of their budget, I wanted to look at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale from my Sale Sleuth perspective. The #Nsale can be an awesome way to get your hands on high quality items for a deep discount, but it can also be a trap!! In this blog post, I wanted to share my rules for shopping the Nsale / questions I ask myself before I click the purchase button, the items that I WILL be looking to shop for, and a product review on items that I already own to help you decide if you would like to shop them!
Rules for Shopping the #Nsale
Can I find this item elsewhere for less money/find a dupe? AND Will this item be moved to Nordstrom Rack? You can find a lot of these items or similar at Nordstrom Rack, especially after the sale is over! Other places to look for similar items are Amazon, DSW, and Marshalls. I have included a collage above with examples of alternatives you can find!
Types of items that I usually find for less money at The Rack (or other stores) are: sweaters, cardigans, coats, shoes, and purses. Brands that I often see moved from the main store to The Rack are: BP, Steve Madden, Michael Kors, Treasure & Bond, Something Navy, Nike, Gibson, Halogen, and Caslon.
Do I really need/truly want this or am I just getting it because everyone else is? When you see an items repeatedly on influencers’ instagram pages, you are bound to be convinced you need it too! Before you purchase it, think about the ways you would style the item, if you have anything similar, or if you ONLY want it because everyone else has it!
If it is a trendy item that you want to try but aren’t sure you will like, check Amazon or the alternative stores listed above for a cheaper option that may be easier to commit to! I usually choose a less expensive option off of Amazon for my trendy items because if they are only “in” for a season or I don’t like it, I didn’t spend too much money on it so I don’t feel bad!
Can you make a similar outfit out of something that you already have? Sometimes we fall in love with a piece that has been styled in an outfit, and then think that we NEED it to recreate that look – false! You can probably recreate that look using something you already have, or find something less expensive!
Yes, taking the time to ask yourself these questions does put a bit of a damper on the excitement of the sale, but in the long run it is extremely beneficial!!! With all that said, here are my top picks keeping my rules in mind!
My Wish List
